Heidi Gosman and Penny Klein launched heidi klein – the UK’s first one-stop holiday shop, in 2002. Two years later, they launched the heidi klein collection. The inspiration came from listening to the clients and then creating a collection of exquisitely cut swimwear. Crafted with love, the collection was an immediate success and was soon distributed through key department stores, boutiques and resorts worldwide.

heidi klein is poised to launch the High Summer 2016 collection with a chic selection of prints, crochet, classics, a twist on boho and a nod to a minimalist nautical look that will run through swimwear as well as cover-ups. Walk along the beach in a selection of kaftans, dresses, shirts, jumpsuits and harem pants. Sporty types can cover up with the rash vest.

heidi klein offers impeccable fit; from the classic bandeau top with removable strap to the adjustable one piece with underwire support . A stand out print this season is the fashion forward Honolulu story, with a nod to 70’s trend.

“Every heidi klein collection is about really good fit and classically good fabrics. Like UK Vogue has said, we’re the little black dress of holiday wear. We are what you always put in your suitcase – your go-to swimwear. I find, with swim, there are trends, but with heidi klein, it’s always about perfect fit and versatility. Of course, you follow trends, but every heidi klein collection incorporates a classic colour palette – lots of whites and navy – which, in Europe, is always huge. You can wear those colours when you are twenty and you can wear them when you are eighty. They are timeless. A real classic. For us, it is mostly about what is commercial,” says Heidi Gossman.

“We are so honoured to be here to show in Sri Lanka because while we manufacture a lot in Europe, we are beginning to do increasingly more swim here. I honestly thought the show would have been a tenth of what it was. I go to Paris Fashion Week and London Fashion Week and this one is incredible! It is unbelievable and it is really exciting that we can be part of it.”

“Confidence! Total, utter confidence. It is about feeling good and that is why our unique selling point is all about that perfect fit. We have all the supermodels in London come to us – Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson – and you think they are perfect, but they have insecurities. Everyone does. So it’s all about what gives you confidence. What you are wearing has to feel good, fit well and feel nice on your skin. It is like that with anything and you have to go to experts who can really educate you on what you are doing.”
