Make 2017 the year you get fit
January 16, 2017
It’s no secret that the models of Swim Week Colombo 2017 possess the most sculpted physiques and flawless skin. Diet, fitness routine and skincare regime all play a key role in staying in shape and looking fantastic.
Ever wondered what it takes to look runway-ready? Here are tips from some of last season’s top models!
“I combine cardio with weight training and maintain a high protein diet, but don’t neglect my carbohydrates. Also, I apply coconut oil on my face when it feels dry.”
“Drink lots of water! Also, I think a lot of people in Sri Lanka are preoccupied with trying to get their hands on the latest imported products but we have such an amazing resource in our own country – coconut oil. So many models here from other countries want to get their hands on it. You can apply it on your skin and you can even drink a couple of teaspoons of virgin coconut oil every morning and evening to keep your skin healthy.”
“To keep my skin healthy, I rely on vitamins, plenty of water and a healthy diet packed with fruits and vegetables. It is important to stay hydrated in hot and humid Colombo. A good sunscreen and moisturizer are required, too.
Working out regularly, focusing on cardio exercises and compound body movement with concentrated stretching, really adds definition and gives you a healthy body. Changing your diet and eliminating unhealthy, processed foods also can get rid of extra body fat and really add up to your shape and wellbeing.”
“I work out regularly, drink lots of water and eat healthy. As for my skin, I moisturise, don’t get too much sun and again, drink lots of water.”
“Personally, I prefer to adopt a low-carb diet. I eat carbs once a week. I also work out at the gym five days a week. My skincare regime comprises of solely water to wash my face. I avoid fairness products and use lacto calamine to moisturize my face.”
“I do yoga, eat lots of fruit and drink fresh juice. My skincare regime includes lots of coconut oil and I always take off my makeup at the end of the day.”
